Digitech VHD Backup

Hyper-V VHD block-level replication — incremental sync, LZ4 compression, snapshot vaults and instant recovery.

Python · TkinterHyper-V WMIWindows Server

Overview

Digitech VHD Backup (KC_VHDBACKUP) replicates Hyper-V virtual disk files at 4 MiB block granularity. Only changed blocks are transferred with LZ4 compression and bandwidth throttling. Discover VMs automatically, manage checkpoint-based snapshots, and mount recovered VHDs for fast restore.

Full-file copies of multi-hundred-GB VHDs choke the LAN and miss the backup window. Block-level incremental sync is what actually finishes overnight on a typical SME Hyper-V host.

Who it is for

IT teams running Hyper-V on Windows Server who need an on-prem replica or vault — not only a cloud backup subscription. Pair it with KC RDP Suite if you also manage RDS session hosts.

How a backup window finishes

The console discovers VMs, queues block-level jobs, and shows changed vs skipped blocks so you know the run actually moved data. Snapshots stay in a vault you own. KC Softwares (Nalagarh / DigiTech family) sizes throttle and paths on-site so overnight jobs do not saturate the office LAN used by Tally or RDS.
